Sabine began her academic training in Cuneiform Studies and Archaeology. During the program, she worked on a dictionary project for the Nuzi dialect of Akkadian, and did some fieldwork on excavations in Germany and the Middle East. After finishing her masters, she went on to work for the Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut (Berlin, Germany) while pursuing Shakespeare and theatre studies. She is currently working on the semiotic aspects and the interrelation of linguistic and visual sign systems in various media, like cuneiform inscriptions, medieval codices, and films like Independence Day.
